Great taste, high water flow, easy filter replacements

When I purchased my house, it came with a traditional Reverse Osmosis (RO) under the kitchen sink. I have been using it now for 4 years but decided to get a tankless RO for multiple reasons.

1. The typical tank RO has 4 filters that need to be replaced at different intervals ranging from 1 to 2 years where the Vortopt has only 2 filters.
2. Changing the filters are much easier on the Vortopt as there is no requirements to shut off water valves and they just pop out and back in again similar to a fridge filter.
3. The tank RO takes up so much space under the sink.
4. Water pressure in the typical tank RO gets weaker as you use it because the tank only holds 2 gallons at a time
5. I have needed to replace the tank because there is a liner that breaks down over time and loses almost all pressure

I cannot speak to installation of the RO as I am not a handy person so I paid a plumber to install it. Based on their feedback, they did say that the instructions are not very clear for the install and took them a bit longer than expected. Once it was installed, I ran the water for about 5-10 minutes to clean out the new filters and remove the foggy water. Once that was done, the water was clear and tasteless just as expected.

The Vortopt tankless system uses two different filters, called PAC and RO. The PAC is to be replaced every 6-12 months and the RO is 1-3 years all depending on use and how clean or dirty your water is. There are LED lights both on the main unit under the sink and on the faucet indicating the filter status. When the filter needs to be replaced, they pop out and pop back in again on the side. I do wish that these filters were accessible from the front because like most people, my under sink is pretty crowded so I do not have access to the filters. I will need to clean out everything under the sink to access the filters.

Right next to the filter status indicators on the faucet, there is also a water quality indicator that measures the Total Dissolved Solids (TDS). This will tell you the quality that is flowing through your filters.

This RO system claims to have a 1:3 ratio of clean water to wasted water. This may seem like a lot but I have seen others that are 1:4 up to 1:10.

Last thing to note, and it is a small thing but still worth mentioning, I am right handed and my old RO system had the knob on the right hand side. This meant I would have to use it left handed. The Vortopt has a button you push right on the front top that turns on and off the water so it works well for both right and left handed users.

Overall I am very happy with the Vortopt tankless RO system. There are only two filters that need to be replaced instead of 4 and there is no huge tank under the sink taking up so much space. Replacing the filters are much easier than a traditional RO and the water flow on this unit is very quick. I can fill up a 1 gallon jug in less than 60 seconds. If you are looking for a new clean water solution or are thinking about replacing a traditional tank RO like I did, I can happily recommend the Vortopt RO.

Good System, But One Installation Step Required a Professional

This system works! The instructions are good (which is NOT a given anymore) and everything was included that was supposed to be (ALSO not a given anymore). I was uncomfortable making a hole in the sewer-drain pipe myself, but a friend who does that kind of work did it for me in exchange for beer and BBQ. (So beware on that point.) Previous to this, my family was creating a bottle neck at the fridge for water (which has a built-in filtering system) but now we can use the sink faucet for drinking water, as well, because it tastes just as good! Recommended!

Works well and installation was straightforward.

I recently upgraded my kitchen with this under-sink tankless reverse osmosis system, and I’ve been really impressed with how it’s performing. Right out of the box, I liked that it not only filters the water thoroughly but also adds back essential minerals like calcium and magnesium, which improves the taste and is better for health.

Installation was surprisingly smooth. The unit fits nicely under the sink without taking up much space since it doesn’t have a tank. The smart faucet is a great feature because it shows real-time TDS readings and filter life right on the tap, so I always know how clean the water is and when to change filters.

The system uses a four-stage filtration process and feels very effective. It wastes less water compared to some other RO systems, which is better for both the environment and my water bill.

Changing the filters is easy thanks to a front-pull design. I can swap them out quickly without shutting off any valves, which saves time and hassle.

The only downside is the price. It’s a bit pricey compared to simpler systems. Also, you’ll need to make sure you have enough clearance under your sink to install it properly. It's a nice looking unit and designed well.
